Researchers from the Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences at the University of Haifa, in collaboration with a consortium of European research institutions, have secured a major international grant launched this month to restore vulnerable marine habitats. The project focuses on developing advanced ecological interventions to rehabilitate rocky reefs and seagrass meadows along the Israeli coastline, directly addressing the pressures of rising sea temperatures and invasive species. The research will provide actionable conservation tools to strengthen marine ecosystem resilience and safeguard local food webs
