A research team from the Natural Resources and Environmental Research Center at the University of Haifa has concluded a multi-year ecological monitoring study evaluating post-fire regeneration patterns across Mount Carmel. The findings indicate that persistent rising temperatures and shortened rainy seasons impede the natural recovery of native Mediterranean flora while accelerating soil moisture loss. Drawing on these insights, the researchers have formulated targeted land-management guidelines for forestry agencies, emphasizing firebreak maintenance and proactive soil conservation to safeguard regional water retention
