Occupational therapy is a health related profession. Aa an interdisciplinary profession, occupational therapy draws from medical science and the social sciences. Occupational therapists deal with diagnosis, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, education, counseling, prevention, and research.
The academic program combines hands-on and theoretical studies from the fields of social sciences, behavioral sciences, medical science, and occupational therapy. In addition to their studies on campus, students undergo practical training in the clinical applications of occupational therapy.
The aim of the courses in the social and behavioral sciences is to understand normative and abnormal cognitive, emotional, and social development.
The aim of the medical science studies is to familiarize students with human anatomy and the physiological and mental processes of health and disease.
The occupational therapy program enables students to understand and apply theoretical and practical knowledge in the process of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
