field. The public health profession wishes to advance health on the local and global levels, for example, by reducing morbidity and death rates from cancer, heart disease, stroke, depression, malnutrition, malaria, AIDS, and influenza epidemics. The methods used to promote public health include: prevention, early detection, policy, environmental change, behavioral change, communication, etc.<\/p><p>The school employs an interdisciplinary, social science-based approach to facilitate a better understanding of health and disease prevention behaviors.
