The curriculum provides theoretical and practical tools and trains graduates to work as data scientists in hi-tech industries, biomedicine, insurance, and more. It is important to note that in recent years data scientists have become among the most sought after professionals in the job market.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">The Bachelor\u2019s program provides students with the probabilistic, statistical, and mathematical tools that employers require. There are also courses in statistical programming, statistical models, statistical learning, and the theory relevant to these disciplines. The studies provide the foundation for a Master\u2019s degrees in the various fields of statistics and probability. The Statistics curriculum is varied and is one of the country\u2019s most innovative curricula.<\/p><p>Data Sciences Program:\u00a0The program leverages the strengths of three departments: computer science, information systems, and statistics. There are three core components of the data science discipline requiring mastery. The program within the Department of Statistics pinpoints on inferring knowledge from big data.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-7282\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Admission Requirements<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-7282\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-7282\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p><u>General Admission Requirements:<\/u><\/p><p>1. Complete Matriculation Certificate\/ high school diploma or an equivalent recognized by the Israeli Ministry of Education or by the Registration Department.<br \/>2<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nite.org.il\/\">. Psychometric Entrance Examination<\/a>\/ SAT or ACT.<br \/>3. <strong>Knowledge of English<\/strong>\u2013 The level of English is determined within the framework of the Psychometric Entrance Examination, the English Placement Tests (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nite.org.il\/other-tests\/english-level-placement-tests\/?lang=en\">AMIR \/AMIRAM<\/a>) or <a href=\"https:\/\/engfor.haifa.ac.il\/?p=71\">SAT, TOFEL, IELTS, ECRL <\/a>tests<strong>.<\/strong><br \/>The minimum level of English required for admission to the university is <strong>Basic <\/strong>(a score of at least 85). Certain departments require a higher level of English.<br \/>4.\u00a0<strong>Knowledge of Hebrew<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Applicants who took the Psychometric Entrance Examination in a language other than Hebrew and graduated from high schools where the language of instruction was not Hebrew, must prove satisfactory knowledge of Hebrew before the beginning of the academic year by passing a Hebrew Proficiency Test (YAEL\/ YAELNET\/ Hebrew classification test of the University of Haifa* ). The score required for admission to the University of Haifa is a score of at least 120 on the YAEL\/ YAELNET\/ Hebrew classification tests.<br \/>Applicants whose scores on the YAEL\/ YAELNET\/Hebrew classification tests range from 90-119 and their Psychometric score was at least 500 will be conditionally admitted and will have to pass the Hebrew Proficiency Test at the required score by the end of the first year of their studies. These students also have the option of studying a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mechina.haifa.ac.il\/%d7%a7%d7%95%d7%a8%d7%a1%d7%99-%d7%90%d7%95%d7%a8%d7%99%d7%99%d7%a0%d7%95%d7%aa-%d7%a2%d7%91%d7%a8%d7%99%d7%aa\/\">Hebrew literacy course<\/a>\u00a0within the framework of the University of Haifa preparatory program (Mechina) .
