cutting edge research. Our faculty members are involved in scientific activities with the aim of enriching and expanding the body of knowledge in psychology by linking across disciplines and implementing diverse methodologies. Inherent to this goal is the dissemination of knowledge through national and international journals and conferences.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The department is committed to provide the best teaching to its undergraduate and graduate students. Research methods, theoretical models, and important findings in the major sub-fields of psychology (i.e., developmental, social, clinical, cognition, neuropsychology, behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, neurocognition) are presented and discussed with the students at all levels of training.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">A central goal of the department is to train the new generation of both researchers and professional psychologists.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It must be noted that the Bachelor\u2019s program in Psychology is not a training course for professional psychologists. In order to practice as a professional psychologist, a Master\u2019s degree is required. Graduates with a bachelor\u2019s degree in Psychology can apply to any of the Master\u2019s degree programs in theoretical or applied Psychology.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Bachelor\u2019s studies in psychology do not qualify graduates as professional psychologists; professional psychologists must have an MA.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-7282\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Admission Requirements<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-7282\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-7282\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p><u>General Admission Requirements:<\/u><\/p><p>1. Complete Matriculation Certificate\/ high school diploma or an equivalent recognized by the Israeli Ministry of Education or by the Registration Department.<br \/>2<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nite.org.il\/\">. Psychometric Entrance Examination<\/a>\/ SAT or ACT.<br \/>3. <strong>Knowledge of English<\/strong>\u2013 The level of English is determined within the framework of the Psychometric Entrance Examination, the English Placement Tests (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nite.org.il\/other-tests\/english-level-placement-tests\/?lang=en\">AMIR \/AMIRAM<\/a>) or <a href=\"https:\/\/engfor.haifa.ac.il\/?p=71\">SAT, TOFEL, IELTS, ECRL <\/a>tests<strong>.<\/strong><br \/>The minimum level of English required for admission to the university is <strong>Basic <\/strong>(a score of at least 85). Certain departments require a higher level of English.<br \/>4.\u00a0<strong>Knowledge of Hebrew<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Applicants who took the Psychometric Entrance Examination in a language other than Hebrew and graduated from high schools where the language of instruction was not Hebrew, must prove satisfactory knowledge of Hebrew before the beginning of the academic year by passing a Hebrew Proficiency Test (YAEL\/ YAELNET\/ Hebrew classification test of the University of Haifa* ). The score required for admission to the University of Haifa is a score of at least 120 on the YAEL\/ YAELNET\/ Hebrew classification tests.<br \/>Applicants whose scores on the YAEL\/ YAELNET\/Hebrew classification tests range from 90-119 and their Psychometric score was at least 500 will be conditionally admitted and will have to pass the Hebrew Proficiency Test at the required score by the end of the first year of their studies. These students also have the option of studying a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mechina.haifa.ac.il\/%d7%a7%d7%95%d7%a8%d7%a1%d7%99-%d7%90%d7%95%d7%a8%d7%99%d7%99%d7%a0%d7%95%d7%aa-%d7%a2%d7%91%d7%a8%d7%99%d7%aa\/\">Hebrew literacy course<\/a>\u00a0within the framework of the University of Haifa preparatory program (Mechina) . Those who meet the course requirements and their final score in the course will be 85 and above will be exempt\u00a0 from the Hebrew condition.<br \/><strong>Please note that certain departments require a higher level of Hebrew and that some departments do not approve admission with a Hebrew condition.<\/strong><strong><br \/><\/strong>*The Hebrew classification test and Hebrew literacy course is valid at the University of Haifa only.<br \/><strong>5<\/strong>.<strong>Departmental Entrance Examinations\/Special admissions requirements<\/strong>\u2013 Certain departments require applicants to take a departmental Entrance Examinations and\/or attend an interview or meet other departmental requirements.<\/p><p>For more information about the general admission requirements please read the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.haifa.ac.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/supplement2022BA.pdf?csrt=8545769659865635795\">supplement<\/a>.<\/p><p><strong>In addition to the general university admission requirements, the candidate must meet individual departmental admission requirements.<\/strong><\/p><ul dir=\"ltr\"><li>A weighted grade of 650 and higher.<\/li><li>A weighted grade of 680 and higher for the &#8216;Mosaic Program&#8217; with the Department of Philosophy + Interview.<\/li><li>Outstanding graduates of the University of Haifa\u2019s pre-academic preparatory program will be accepted (for more information click\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mechina.haifa.ac.il\/%d7%9e%d7%a1%d7%9c%d7%95%d7%9c-%d7%9e%d7%a6%d7%98%d7%99%d7%99%d7%a0%d7%99%d7%9d\/\">here<\/a>).<\/li><li>For the calculator that rates the likelihood of your admission,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/applicants.haifa.ac.il\/enrollmentChances\/index.html\">click here.<\/a><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Admission Requirements for Students who have a Matriculation Certificate** but have not taken the Psychometric Exam:<\/strong><\/p><p>Admission to the pre-undergraduate study track will be possible if the following conditions are met: <br \/>\u2022 Applicants with a matriculation in English and mathematics 5 units with a grade of 85 or higher.<br \/>\u2022 Applicants with a matriculation in English and mathematics 5 units with a grade of 85 or higher + mathematics 4 units with a grade of 85 or higher + a grade of 85 or higher with 5 study units in one of the following subjects: physics, computer science, biology, chemistry.<br \/>\u2022 A minimum score of 120 in the YAEL Hebrew Proficiency Exam, or an equivalent university examination, or the successful completion of a university literacy course. <br \/>Applicants who meet these requirements will be admitted to the pre-undergraduate study track, will be required to take courses during their first semester under the guidance of the department and must pass them with a minimum grade of 75 in each course.<br \/>If they receive the required grades in the pre-undergraduate track courses, they will be accepted to the Bachelor of Arts studies the following semester.
