object for consumption or research, but rather an activity that engages us continuously. We have become, once again, \u201ccontent producers\u201d in addition to consumers and audience members. The Department of\u00a0 Communication researches the meanings and the effects of these activities in an age of evolving technologies and cultures, with the aim of understanding these phenomena and processes in order to provide students with critical and practical tools that they can use in the world. \u00a0The department faculty members conduct cutting edge research locally and globally, and it is reflected in their teaching. The department\u2019s \u00a0B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. \u00a0graduates \u00a0work in diverse fields of media and related fields, in the public, private and non-profit sectors.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Students study the basic questions addressed by communications researchers, and the tools used to answer them. In both the theoretical courses and workshops students will learn the processes, concepts, and theories relating to media institutions, platforms, and audiences, along with the basic skills and tools needed to work in this field.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-7282\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Admission Requirements<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-7282\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-7282\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p><u>General Admission Requirements:<\/u><\/p><p>1. Complete Matriculation Certificate\/ high school diploma or an equivalent recognized by the Israeli Ministry of Education or by the Registration Department.<br \/>2<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nite.org.il\/\">. Psychometric Entrance Examination<\/a>\/ SAT or ACT.<br \/>3. <strong>Knowledge of English<\/strong>\u2013 The level of English is determined within the framework of the Psychometric Entrance Examination, the English Placement Tests (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nite.org.il\/other-tests\/english-level-placement-tests\/?lang=en\">AMIR \/AMIRAM<\/a>) or <a href=\"https:\/\/engfor.haifa.ac.il\/?p=71\">SAT, TOFEL, IELTS, ECRL <\/a>tests<strong>.<\/strong><br \/>The minimum level of English required for admission to the university is <strong>Basic <\/strong>(a score of at least 85). Certain departments require a higher level of English.<br \/>4.\u00a0<strong>Knowledge of Hebrew<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Applicants who took the Psychometric Entrance Examination in a language other than Hebrew and graduated from high schools where the language of instruction was not Hebrew, must prove satisfactory knowledge of Hebrew before the beginning of the academic year by passing a Hebrew Proficiency Test (YAEL\/ YAELNET\/ Hebrew classification test of the University of Haifa* ). The score required for admission to the University of Haifa is a score of at least 120 on the YAEL\/ YAELNET\/ Hebrew classification tests.<br \/>Applicants whose scores on the YAEL\/ YAELNET\/Hebrew classification tests range from 90-119 and their Psychometric score was at least 500 will be conditionally admitted and will have to pass the Hebrew Proficiency Test at the required score by the end of the first year of their studies. These students also have the option of studying a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mechina.haifa.ac.il\/%d7%a7%d7%95%d7%a8%d7%a1%d7%99-%d7%90%d7%95%d7%a8%d7%99%d7%99%d7%a0%d7%95%d7%aa-%d7%a2%d7%91%d7%a8%d7%99%d7%aa\/\">Hebrew literacy course<\/a>\u00a0within the framework of the University of Haifa preparatory program (Mechina) . The program opens with a Double major track only.<\/li><li>Integrated program with the Department of Information Systems (the conditions of admission of both departments must be met)<\/li><li>Combined program with law &#8211; undergraduate law students combined with the Department of Communication will be able to obtain approval to begin a law internship if they meet all the requirements of the university and faculty regarding studies, and have accumulated 112 credits in the Faculty of Law and at least 30 credits in the Department of Communication.
